LCAs to underpin product claims.
LCA can be used to make claims about the sustainability of your product. This must usually involve the full life cycle of your product, from cradle-to-grave, with a LCIA Methodology chosen carefully to meet your goals. LCAs can be used for multiple purposes, including Environmental Product Declarations and Carbon Neutral claims.
LCAs for Internal Improvements.
An internal LCA provides deeper insights into the life cycle of your products and manufacturing. To be most useful, this should focus on the product aspects under your company’s control, which may or may not include the full life cycle.
Critical Review
The ISO 14044 standard has provisions covering types of critical review for LCAs used for different purposes. This ranges from internal critical reviews to external reviews using a panel of experts, required for product comparisons.
